I hope the information available on this site can excite you about the future of semiconductor and especially about the future of programmable FPGA platforms. FPGA technology is the answer to many challenges we face in the semiconductor world such as manufacturability, the cost of design and the programmable imperative.
FPGA platforms will become the core of the infrastructure to address the ‘Triple Play’ opportunity. First, they enable the further digitization and processing of real time signals with growing resolutions, requiring an exponential growth in DSP compute capability. Second, FPGA's will become the heart of secure and reliable transport of data with increasing bandwidth over wireless and wired infrastructure and , finally, the parellelism of the FPGA will support the need for high performance computing to extract information from large amounts of raw data.
In my role as CTO of Xilinx, I am trying to contribute to building of new business opportunities, strategic marketing and developing and leading engineering teams. As a company spokesperson to business and technical community, I am excited to share that vision with you.
